ReMedia began in 2019 with the successful award of a Canada Foundation for Innovation grant and launched in 2023. ReMedia brings  together individual research projects that focus on the literary and cultural memory of the early twentieth century. Dr. Emily Christina Murphy is the Principal Investigator.

The infrastructure is primarily housed in the Innovation Annex at UBC-Okanagan campus, where there is a dedicated ReMedia Research Studio and a Collaborative Performance Space. Additional collaboration equipment is housed in the AMP Lab at UBC-Okanagan.
